Our aim is to provide a minimum adult:child ratio of 1:6, whilst the legal requirement is 1:8. We also actively encourage parents to participate in the classroom, sharing at first hand the experience of their child and enriching the life of the group. We are currently looking for a new Manager to work alongside the Committee in running our Pre School. Please see a brief description of our requirements below -
Contract term: Permanent
Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.50am–3.20pm
Salary: £9,670–£10,774pa (dependent on experience) We offer a number of benefits, including an excellent hourly rate, ability to stretch pay for employee budgeting, pension and sick pay provision, and staff uniform provided free of charge.
In our new manager, we are looking for:
- a passion for childcare and children’s learning; a minimum level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification; previous proven childcare experience of at least two years, ideally within a managerial role; ability to demonstrate good communication skills and leadership with the children, staffing team, parents and carers, committee, school and other agencies; comprehensive knowledge of Ofsted requirements, EYFS framework, safeguarding, data protection and implementation of legislative policies and procedures; experience as a designated person and relevant training as a child protection officer; relevant training and experience as a SENCO; paediatric first aid certificate; good computer skills; a commitment to improving standards to ensure the Pre-school is run to the highest level.
Most of your working week will be spent working with the children. Alongside this, you will have allocated time in the office to complete your administrative duties. Responsibilities will include:
- daily management of the pre-school day, including set-up in the morning and tidying away, ready to hand over the building to the Home Club; meeting children’s individual needs; ensuring all staff keep children’s progress records up to date and are shared with parents and the necessary agencies; implementing new policies and procedures; planning weekly and termly activities to help promote learning and development.
Coton Pre-school is committed to promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be expected to have an enhanced DBS check completed before starting the position.
